Reminders

We will be closed Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day. Have a safe and fun Labor day weekend!

We are super excited to welcome our new Bear Cub friends to the classroom. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting school year!!!

We will be holding Parent Night on Thursday, September 26th at 6:30 P.M.This will be a great time to get to know your child’s teachers and classroom activities. Come enjoy some tasty snacks and learn about the Bear Cub room.

We will using the Scholastic's "Clifford's Big Classroom" during Thursday's time lessons. This magazine teaches following directions, sequencing, classification, visual discrimination and tons of other concepts. There is a one-time fee of $5.00 per child for the subscription and that's for the entire year. Please give Money to Sonya or Kourtney or feel free to include the fee into your tuition check.

Alaska Fall is upon us and the weather will be getting colder. Please make sure your child is prepared with the appropropriate clothing for outside play, warm jackets and boots, hats and gloves. Alaska weather is unpredictable and children would rather wear their own jackets than a Starbright one.

Please make sure to sign up on the parent clipboard to bring a healthy snack once a month for 20 children. We have snack ideas located outside the office in the hallway if needed.

Remember to sign your child in and out on the clipboard every morning and afternoon. Please write in the time your child is dropped off and picked up and a signature from you.Thank You.

We like to have your Bear Cub at Starbright by 9:30 a.m. - Please make sure that your child is here on time so they don't miss out on our exciting morning lessons. During this time the classroom is teacher-directed in which we learn about the "letter people" or the letter of the week, Prior to group time the classroom is open for independent exploration, art and morning snack. If your child wants this extra free time in the morning, please make sure to come a little earlier for a smooth transition.

This is a great way for your child to participate in morning discussions that involve Bear Cub behavior, daily routines and curriculum.

Star of the Week
Children really look forward to being star of the week! When your child is chosen ( We go down the sign in sheet list) please help your child to remember to bring in pictures of themselves and family to show to the class. They will be the Teacher helper for the whole week, i.e Helping turn lights on and off, lunch helper, line leader and will also be interviewed by the Bear Cubs themselves. This is a great experience for each child to be in the spotlight for a week and show off their leadership skills.

Thank you, Sonya, Kourtney and Sheri
